Increased and Coordinated Public Safety Investments for Downtown Dallas
In early 2024, a group of Downtown business and civic leaders came together to ponder the question: “What kind of Downtown Dallas do we want to build for the thousands of new residents and millions of new visitors we know are headed here in the years ahead?”
The group partnered with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to conduct a pro-bono assessment of the Downtown economy, public safety, and homelessness. The result of that work is a comprehensive six-point plan for sustained public safety. It was formed based on the belief that a relatively modest investment in safety and security in Downtown will yield billions in incremental property value growth over just a few years.
Executing this plan requires strategic partnerships through the newly formed Downtown Safety Coalition, a group of public and private agencies that are united in our commitment to a safe, clean, and vibrant Downtown Dallas.
