Downtown Crime Report

The Dallas Police Department tracks year-over-year crime data to identify trends. Crime in Downtown Dallas was down by more than 10% in 2025 as compared to 2024 continues to fall, as compared to the same time period last year. Violent crime dropped by more than 12%.

This substantial progress is a direct result of increased police resources and improved strategies as called for in the Safe in the City plan.

The Safe in the City campaign is committed to providing accurate data to track our progress and to hold ourselves accountable.

Downtown Dallas, Inc. Quality of Life Reports:

Downtown Dallas, Inc. (DDI) tracks year-over-year data on responses to non-emergency quality of life issues. DDI is reporting substantial drops in 2025 vs. 2024 for some of the most common offenses, including panhandling, disorderly conduct, and vandalism/graffiti/litter. Most notably, following the closure of all Downtown homeless encampments, reports of sleeping in public are down by over 35%.
