The Dallas Police Department tracks year-over-year crime data to identify trends. Through May 1, 2025, overall crime in Downtown Dallas has fallen more than 29%, including a 50% drop in (non-family violence) aggravated assaults. This substantial progress is a direct result of increased police resources and improved strategies called for in the Safe in the City campaign.
The Safe in the City campaign is committed to providing accurate data to track our progress to hold ourselves accountable.
Downtown Dallas, Inc. Quality of Life Report:

2024 vs. 2025
Downtown Dallas, Inc. (DDI) tracks year-over-year data on responses to non-emergency quality of life issues. Through May 16, 2025, DDI is seeing a decrease in quality of life issues throughout Downtown. This progress is directly tied to increased coordination with law enforcement and private security, as well as the successful Street to Home initiative that housed more than 255 people experiencing homelessness from Downtown.
